Summit County residents and businesses are invited to visit ReWorks Recycling Days this April & May to recycle specific items that are recyclable beyond home recycling carts. 

Materials accepted at these collections are listed below. No other materials will be accepted. No Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) materials will be accepted.

When: April 20, 21, 22 & 24 from 3 pm - 6 pm and May 11, 12, 13 & 15 from 3 pm - 6 pm (There are no Thursday collections).

Accepted Materials Include:

• Styrofoam™
• Glass Bottles and Jars
• Cooking Oil
• Campaign Signs
• String Lights/Cords
• Cell Phones
• Laptops/Tablets
• DVD/VCR Players
• Televisions (limit 2 per vehicle)
• Monitors (limit 2 per vehicle)

Prepayment and registration is required for the following materials:

• Tires ($4/tire. Limit 10. Pay through online registration only)

Registration for Summit County Public Health’s MowGREENER 2026 Program is now open (April 1, 2026). Eligible residents can receive a rebate for purchasing a new electric mower when they recycle their old gas mower.

 Participants who have been confirmed can be eligible for the following rebates:

$150 Visa® gift card: for those who purchase a brand new battery or electric mower AND scrap an old gas mower.

$50 Visa® gift card: for those who purchase a brand new battery or electric mower, but do not have a gas mower to scrap (excellent for first time homebuyers).

$25 Visa® gift card: for those who purchase battery or electric lawn care accessories (i.e., string trimmer, hedge trimmer, leaf blower, etc.) No scrapping necessary. Limit 4 for a total of $100.

MowGREENER is for residents (not lawn care companies) of Medina, Summit or Portage Counties (the ARAQMD service area). Participation is limited and a waiting list will be established, if necessary. Registration opens on April 1, 2026. Summit County Fiscal Officer Kristen M. Scalise CPA, CFE, has announced that real estate tax relief is available to residents who have sustained damage to their property in the wake of the recent storm. The filing deadline for property damaged by the storm is December 31, 2026. Fiscal Officer Scalise has stressed the importance of filing this application as soon as possible. Any deduction from value will affect tax bills mailed in January 2027.

Revere Safety Town will be held June 15 - 18, 2026 (Monday - Thursday) at Richfield Elementary School, 3080 Revere Rd. 

The program is open to all incoming Kindergarten students for the 2026-2027 school year who reside in the Revere community. The two sessions will include: Morning Session - 9:00 am to 11:45 am and Afternoon session - 1:00 pm to 3:45 pm. All student applications will be done online using the link below or the QR code on the flyer.

Do you know a high school senior considering a future career in public service? The County Commissioners Association of Ohio has announced a $2,000 scholarship opportunity!

The application deadline is May 1, 2026. 

Applicants must be:

• Be a high school senior
• Have at least a "B" average or equivalent GPA
• Be a US Citizen & resident of an Ohio county
• Must plan to attend a university, community college, training program, or vocational school in Ohio and seek a career in public service in Ohio.
