Beginning November 1, 2024, residents who are Cleveland Water customers may receive a letter from Cleveland Water informing them of the service line material at their address. The letter asks customers to report their customer-owned service line material by taking pictures and sending them to Cleveland Water through their reporting webpage. After a customer submits photos, Cleveland Water staff will review them to identify the material and update the information in their system and on their online interactive map. Some Cleveland Water customers whose service connections were investigated and replaced over the last few months may still receive a letter due to the deadline for printing materials. Cleveland Water takes several actions to protect their customers from the risk of lead. Their treatment methods have been proven effective for lead corrosion control since 1997 and they consistently meet and exceed all state and federal drinking water standards.
If residents have any questions regarding the letter or lead, we encourage you to please visit www.clevelandwater.com/lead. Residents can also call Cleveland Water’s Lead Inquiry Line at 216-664-2882 or email LeadLookup@ClevelandWater.com. Due to an anticipated high volume of inquiries, they ask that customers are patient as they work to respond as quickly as possible.
